Accessibility Statement

EGON Hotel GmbH is committed to making its website egonhotel.com and its online booking process accessible in accordance with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the underlying standards (EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1, Level AA). This statement applies to the website named above.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The large majority of the website meets the requirements: structure, navigation, content, images and forms have been specifically reviewed and adjusted. The online booking flow is also largely accessible. “Partially compliant” refers to the individual points listed under Content that is not yet fully accessible, which we continue to work on.

Measures already in place

The following requirements are implemented on this website and have been verified technically:

• Use without a mouse: All functions can be reached by keyboard, and the element currently in focus is visibly highlighted. Every page starts with a skip link leading straight to the main content.
• Colour contrast: Text, control and accent colours have been checked against the Level AA minimum contrast ratios and adjusted where necessary.
• Text alternatives: Every image on this website has a text alternative – descriptive for images carrying information, marked accordingly for purely decorative ones.
• Structure and screen-reader support: Headings follow a correct hierarchy and page regions are identifiable as landmarks. Each page declares its language (German, English, Danish) so that screen readers use the correct pronunciation.
• Forms: All input fields are associated with their labels, and required fields are marked as such.
• Motion and video: Decorative videos can be paused, and the “reduce motion” system setting is respected and suppresses moving images automatically.
• Zoom: Pages can be enlarged to at least 200 % without loss of content or functionality; zooming is not disabled.
• Assistive options in the booking flow: Inside the booking dialogue, the settings icon lets you switch on additional accessibility aids: high contrast, a blue-light filter and more legible fonts. Further assistance is available via the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + ?”. Language, currency and units of measurement can be changed there as well.
• Accessible rooms: Information about our accessible rooms can be found on the Accessible rooms page.

Content that is not yet fully accessible

We are still working on the following points:

• Online booking flow (third-party system): Based on our review, the booking flow is largely accessible, and the search form on our website is fully keyboard operable. The booking dialogue itself is provided by an embedded third-party system, over whose internals we have only limited influence; it does, however, come with its own accessibility aids (see above). Individual points – such as the legibility of error messages and screen-reader support for certain controls – are being reviewed and improved together with the provider. Of course, we are also happy to take your booking by phone or e-mail at any time.
• Embedded map: The interactive map showing how to reach us is provided by a third party and is not accessible in every detail. All the information it contains – address, arrival by train, by car and from the airport, as well as parking – is also available as plain text on the Location & directions page.

This statement was prepared on 14 July 2026 and was last reviewed and updated on 4 August 2026. It is based on a self-assessment together with a technical review of the website. It will be updated when the website changes substantially.
